Local Ricky News – November 2021

Plans are underway for Batchworth Community Council to fund the festive lights in Ricky High Street and Moneyhill Parade, as in recent years. In addition, this year will see new lights in Church Street. Likewise this year, both trees near the library and Watersmeet will be lit up. Last year one was unavailable due to essential pollarding work.

The Chairman of Batchworth Community Council, Councillor Andrea Fraser, will be switching on the festive lights at the Ricky Town Team’s annual Winter Fair, to be held on Friday, 26 November from 5pm in Ricky High Street, with the switch on at 6pm. Batchworth Community Council is providing funds of £2,500 to help towards the running costs involved in putting on the Winter Fair.

All members of the public are very welcome to attend the Council’s Full Council, Planning and Finance Committee Meetings. Dates and agendas are  on the website, with  public participation sessions of 3 minutes per resident. The Finance and Full Council meetings are now back to being held face to face, at Basing House, 46 High Street, Ricky WD3 1HP.
