21st year for the popular Moor Park 10k and Fun Runs – Sunday,18 September 2022
The popular charity Moor Park 10k & Fun Run is back and happening on Sunday, 18 September at Merchant Taylors’ School.
Last year over 300 adults and 600 school children of all ages and abilities took part. A record-breaking £62,000 was raised for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Charitable Fund.
The Moor Park 10k has been held every year since 2002 and is one of the major fundraising events in the charity’s calendar. We are encouraging participants and supporters to make a donation on our JustGiving page or create their own online giving page and ask family and friends to sponsor. Money raised will help fund the Complementary Therapy service at the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre (LJMC).
Just £35 could fund one complementary therapy session to help ease the side effects a patient can experience during cancer treatment
The event is suitable for all ages, last year’s youngest runner was four years old and the oldest was 80!
Local schools can compete for the 2012 Shield which is awarded to the school that has the most runners. Last year, St John’s School in Northwood had over 100 pupils taking part. The Junior Fun Runs start at 11.45am and entry is £12.
Local residents, community groups and businesses are also encouraged to take part in the 10k Walk starting at 2.30 pm and entry is £15. The popular 10k route takes runners through the stunning Moor Park golf course and estate and starts at 3.00pm. Entry is £20.
