Restarts Sunday 29th March 2026 10.30-2.30pm
We are back for 2026! This highly successful community market operated by Batchworth Community Council restarts for 2026 on Sunday March 29th and will continue on the last Sunday of the month throughout the year up until December 20th (broght forward one week).
The market offers quality, local goods ranging from hot and cold food, jewellery, gifts, handmade crafts and event treats for your four-legged friend! Our buskers provide a wide range of live music too, so come and spend some time and enjoy all that Rickmansworth has to offer alongside the hustle and bustle of the market on the High Street.
#LOVEYOURHIGHSTREET market has been managed by BCC and Rickmansworth Town team since April 2022. Together these two organisations have worked hard to ensure the market runs regularly and to help drive footfall into the town centre, For more info visit: https://rickmansworthevents.co.uk
Flower Power
From May 2022, Rickmansworth, Money Hill Parade and Moor Park have benefited from beautiful flowers and shrubs in the planters, hanging baskets and barrier troughs on our streets as well as new bins and benches. These have made our three centres brighter and more welcoming. BCC successfully applied for a grant accessed via Three Rivers District Council from the Government and EU Welcome Back Fund, set up to help High Streets recover from the pandemic. Flowers are replanted each Summer and Winter season. From January 2024, a further Greening project to replant Northway Triangle was started and continues to be supported by Batchworth Community Council.
Outdoor Gym at Eastbury Recreational Ground
The outdoor gym for adults (for those aged 13 and above) was unveiled in August 2022 at the Eastbury Recreation Ground on Batchworth Lane in Eastbury. Featuring a variety of keep fit equipment, there’s something for everyone. Batchworth Community Council is proud to have contributed 75% of the cost, with Three Rivers District Council funding the remaining 25% for this new facility for the residents of Moor Park and Eastbury to enjoy.
New Defibrillators
Each year from 2020, new defibrillators have been installed in the parish: Rickmansworth High Street (outside M&S); Moor Park (outside the MP58 Office on Main Avenue [supported & funded via the Hertfordshire Defibrillator Scheme in collaboration with BCC]; Batchworth Lock and the Café in the Park in the Aquadrome. BCC are currently reviewing a further location by the Bury Lake Young Mariners club and planning information and training events with St Johns Ambulance service.
Water Butts
The BCC project, part of the 'living sustainably' initiative started in 2021, will have provided nearly 400 free water butts to residents in the parish. The water butts save water, which in turn helps maintain the beauty and ecosystems in our area. This offer was extended following feedback from our residents. The final water butts in the 4th tranche were delivered in 2025.
Support for local festivals and events
Providing grants and publicity and assistance as required to support local festivals (Canal Festival, Folk Festival, Eastbury Summer Fair) plus commemorating major events (Jubilee, Kings Coronation, DDay 80, VE Day 80, Remembrance Day) and annual festive lights, Christmas trees & St Marys Church Xmas Tree festival.
D Day 80th Anniversary
BCC are currently preparing how to support the D Day 80th anniversary event on June 6th 2024.
